Compassion & Forgiveness

"Lord, great and awesome God, you who keep your merciful covenant toward those who love you and observe your commandments… We have sinned… We have rebelled… We have not obeyed your servants the prophets… But yours, O Lord, our God, are compassion and forgiveness!” (Daniel 9: 4b, 5, 6, 9)

Prophets such as Daniel, and many others within our sphere of support, like family and friends, often pray for us like this. While they know our nature, they also know and trust the Truth that God is everything he claims to be, and more!

God’s love and mercy are meant for the sinner and the rebel, and they are offered to the ones who turn their backs on him. Compassion is the drive that feeds the outcome of forgiveness! It is the source of what helps us realize that we are worth it, and that we are meant for more than what we have become. (cf. Lion King)
