Evolution of the Voice: The GregCast Goes to Canada (cont.)

This GregBlog Series offers a glimpse into my preparation for my trip to Canada, where I'll be serving the Dioceses of Prince Albert and Saskatoon.  Coming from Alabama, I'll be bringing more than a banjo on my knee!  Here are some latest thoughts and directions for The GregCast Live in Canada, coming October 10-13, 2012.  Feedback and input is welcomed... Part of the value in opening up this process is to also open up to the Will of the Holy Spirit, that voice within us all!  PLEASE SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS, AND IDEAS!  Meanwhile, here are mine:

The following is a proposed two session presentation that will most likely guide me through my week serving the Dioceses of Prince Albert and Saskatoon.  I will admit, that presenting it here in paragraph form, doesn't reflect the entertainment factor that NEEDS to be a part of any presentation, let alone a youth retreat or junior high rally.  The following is just my goal statement for the message... The rest will be one of those "I guess you had to be there" experiences!

Maybe you will... If so, you'll see that with me, the openess to what the Spirit brings to the moment is my top priority, but the message (below) is never far from my heart.  You see, I serve the Gospel, and the concept of discipleship and mission, for as the tag line sometimes says, I'm out to "make disciples of all networks".  So thanks for reading the GregBlog, and thanks for journeying with me to Saskatchewan!  Read on:

This is the Picture - Working As One! The opening Ice Breakers involve an introduction of me and where I come from, calling on the students to let their guard down a little and allow themselves to simply play along.  The final exercise is playing the game of Pictionary at table, which calls them to work together solving clues, and using good old communication skills.  These activities and the final game are processed to begin the Session highlighting discipleship, and working as one to BE the Body of Christ for all that we meet.

Living Out the Choice to Follow The Voice - The Habit of Saying Yes! The second session will make the case that if you accept that Christ is IN you, (i.e. through Baptism) then there is a natural opportunity to have Him flow out of your life and your actions (i.e. morality)!  Whether through one's Baptism, their belief in the Christian value system, or the participation in the life, mission and work of the Church, especially in the reception of the Eucharist, having Christ IN your life will eventually result in Christ flowing OUT of your life, helping others.  Themes based on Luke's Gospel and the Work of Mercy will be highlighted. Note: My style is very relaxed and fun, and while I may skip over the surface of certain Truths, the message is one of positive encouragement, calling these young people to take a good risk, and say YES!
