Now is the Time!

“Behold, now is a very acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” (2 Corinthians 6:2)

This is one of the first verses in Scripture that truly moved my heart. Coupled with the concept of accepting a “ministry of reconciliation,” (cf. 2 Corinthians 5:11 - 6:2) this acceptable time is one of embracing the need to share in God’s loving forgiveness, not just to be forgiven, but to live a life of balance.

The first spiritual analogy that stuck with me was that of keeping one’s checkbook balanced. My “ins and outs” should always match those of my Lord and spiritual “bank.” It suddenly all made sense, and was the first message I shared publicly as a self proclaimed “Ambassador for Christ” in 1988!

So “working together… [I] appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain.” (2 Corinthians 6:1) This concept has worked for me, and the balance that I seek continues to drive my very life each and every day!
