Do, Give, Seek and Bless the Lord!

Do to no one what you yourself dislike. Give to the hungry some of your bread, and to the naked some of your clothing. Seek counsel from every wise man. At all times bless the Lord God, and ask him to make all your paths straight and to grant success to all your endeavors and plans. - Tobit 4:15a. 16a. 18a. 19

Do, give, seek and bless!

DO: To do the will of God, or do something nice, or even great, is to act on a feeling or urge for goodness.  When we know that we are God's, loved by Him, and called by Him to live our life to the fullest (cf. John 10:10), we feel the urge to do something about it... The over-used slogan is screaming to be used again: Just Do It!

Give: The other song that I know from the 80's "Pop-Punksters" Missing Persons, other than "What Are Words For", is a song called "Give" This somewhat obscure pop tune from the early 80's MTV splash speaks the Gospel quite well, "When's the last time you really touched someone? How did it feel? Did it surprise you when you found yourself unselfish?  Did it seem unreal? The pressure's everywhere-everywhere around you, beckon you to turn the other way. But I say the results are superficial, there's only one way to play.  Give-when you have anything at all to give.  You have everything to live for.  Give all you've got to give, [and] after you've given all you can... Give again, give again, give again!"

Seek: Take the time today, and everyday, to search for the answers that are right in your midst.  You've heard the challenge to respect your elders?  Serve them, talk with them, and listen to them! While it might be the same old story, each time it's told it reveals another layer of truth... Sounds like reading Scripture, doesn't it?

Bless: its prayed most every Sunday: "Angels of the Lord, bless the Lord... all you dolphins, bless the Lord... Wind and chill, bless the Lord... Everything that has breath, bless the Lord!  May our every step, and action give him praise!

Amen!
