The readings for today's Mass, on this Monday of the second week after Christmas, offer us a simple formula. Love brings light, and light illuminates the Truth, and the Truth becomes widely known!
Love...
- We are called to know that the love of God has been given to us in the coming of Jesus Christ.
- We are challenged to love one another, no matter the differences, no matter the faults.
- When we share that love, it reveals good things, and "shiny happy people"!
- When we reach out and offer prayer, and help, and healing, people take notice.
- Whatever darkness that exists is not only revealed, but eliminated.
- "The truth hits everybody, the truth hits everyone!" (from the famed song by The Police)
- When hit by Truth, one MUST react.
- When touched by the Truth (of the Gospel), one is revealed, and healed!
- Love is passed on, as this Truth illuminates and heals!
- Thus the gamble of the Mission of Jesus Christ: Love is contagious, light cannot be hidden, and the Truth sets us free!
Happy New Year!
