Today’s question comes from a Jesus in Nazareth. He writes:
“Dear GregCast, I love the blog and the podcasts! I especially like the most recent GregCast about Lebron James... Subtle, and sweet. Nice job! BTW, you should always keep thing short and to the point... You do tend to ramble a bit! Anyway, here is my question: Will you be exalted in heaven? Thanks, I hope you can answer this soon, for I’ve been dying to hear what you (and your friends) have to say on this one!
- Signed... Jesus from the Naz’!”
Well, J’Naz... I think that’s a great question! Based on your other comments, I’ll try to keep it brief :)... Us folks here on the planet are doing what we can do, to try and live life, and understand what there is to do to make it better day after day. If I know my Gospel, you asked the same question of “Chorazin, Bethsaida, Tyre, Sidon, and Capernaum” (cf. Matthew 11: 20-24) You walked with them, and did great things, but they did not change their ways. So, like you do sometimes, you got in their face and laid down the law! “Will you be exalted in heaven, [or will] you will go down to the nether world?” (cf. Matthew 11: 23) So, I guess you’re asking the same general question of me (and my friends)... Will we be exalted in heaven?
Actually J’Naz, it’s not really a question at all, is it? You’re saying that we’d better open our eyes, and ears and lives to the work you’ve done all around us, and make the changes necessary, or we’re gonna miss out on all of this “exalting”! So, for me and my friends, let’s just say we hear what you’re saying, and we know that change is always necessary, and usually for the better. We’re open to the Spirit, and YOU and all the things that God has in store for us. Right gang?
Be patient with us Lord, for we are just a couple of God’s kids trying to figure out the instruction manual down here. We’re exalting YOU, so we can some day be exalted WITH YOU!
- Thanks for supporting the GregCast!
PS: J’Naz... I’m sure Lebron is happy now in Miami, so could you spend little extra time in Cleveland? I’m hoping that the folks there can catch a break, and feel good about sports again. Let’s get a championship for the Browns this season!
