Easter Day #48: Zest!
If you’ve been following these past 48 days of Easter, you’ll know I’ve attempted to weave my way through the alphabet, and thesaurus to find words synonymous with “Easter” or “life”, attempting to make the point that each day of the Easter Season is for breaking open the many ways we are called to live the life given to us by the miracle of the resurrection!
Today we approach the last letter of the alphabet, as we begin to wind up our journey through Easter. Today is about ZEST, which is a soap, and a way of life! If you remember the TV commercial, a simple bar of soap can make you “ZESTFULLY” clean... In fact the phrase says, “You’re not fully clean until you’re ZESTFULLY clean!” See the “ZESTY” YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5iqpb6L7pY here!
Now I could write about the spirit of forgiveness and living a clean life, but that would be too obvious. The purpose of ZEST in our life represents another something that we can add that will make things better! So, to manipulate the commercial a little, let’s just say that you’re not fully alive, unless you’re full of ZEST, which is energy, and purpose and vibrance. The power of the Holy Spirit is the ultimate source of ZEST, and with it we can do all things!
And Now, “50 Ways to Get Through Easter”
BONUS MATERIAL...
You may have noticed that not all of the letters of the alphabet were represented in this list of “50 Ways”, so I think its fair to recognize the forgotten letters...
The GregCast proudly presents the “Extra Words that Represent the Easter Miracle”, brought to you by the letters “J, K, N, Q, R, T, U, W, X and Y”
Jesus: Duh? How could I leave this one out?
Kinetic: Our faith needs to stay in motion, always moving forward!
Necessity: I know I’ve inferred this though out the list (or is it implied), but this is a very necessary journey!
Quest: Johnny Quest was a great cartoon for me when I was younger, for it taught me the value of adventure, and finding cool stuff!
Reconciliation: It has always been the key focal point of faith for me, for to “balance” one’s life, and the give and take that it brings, is a discipline we all need to work on constantly!
Trinity: Another, Duh moment! It’s the nature of “synergy” that was written about along the way. Father, Son and Holy Spirit combine to become something greater than the whole!
Universal: This “whole” applies to us all, as it is the constant that drives us through creation!
Wow: Enough said!
Xanadu: This is the heaven we all seek! It is also the subject of two great songs; one by Rush and the other through the combined efforts of E.L.O. and Olivia Newton-John. It made for a terrible film! Xanadu is defined by thefreedictionary.com as a noun that represents an idyllic, beautiful place. Xanadu, is a place in "Kubla Khan," a poem by Samuel Taylor Coleridge.
YOU: Yesterday’s post concluded with the statement: “Maybe it is all about you”... and it is, for Christ lived, died and rose again so that YOU might have eternal life!
Happy Almost Pentecost!
